How did West Hills Christian School strengthen your faith in God?
The school implemented biblical teachings in classes emphasizing how Bible verses and stories, like Proverbs, could be used for modern-day scenarios. We also learned memory verses in Bible class, especially during 8th grade. Now, if someone mentions a portion of Scripture we studied, like Ephesians 1:3-23, the first few verses will instantly pop into my head.

What was one of your favorite moments at WHCS?
One of my favorite moments at West Hills would be the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. The trip was a great time, and I got to spend time with my friends exploring D.C., Colonial Williamsburg, and Pennsylvania. It was a good life experience, and I will remember the trip for a lifetime.

How did WHCS prepare you for your high school education?
First off, the teachers were amazing. Mr. Brooks always made me laugh. They taught us many things that have come up during high school classes that I’ll recognize and think, “I know that! We learned that last year!” Thanks to my 7th and 8th grade teachers, I was able to test into Spanish II, Math Honors, and English Honors.

How did WHCS cultivate community?
West Hills is a small school, so everyone knows each other. The eighth graders get to help the first graders during Hoop-a-Thon. The older kids get to be reading buddies with the younger kids. The whole school also does activities together, such as the carnival and the end-of-the-year parties with your class. One of everyone’s favorites is the all-school water fight at the end of the year, which is really fun, and you get to have a great time getting all your friends wet.
